This beauty has been rescued and born again...and better than when she came off the production line on March 3rd, 1955! She was painted all in white in 1955 and then as time went by she became neglected and regaled to an attic, basement or a garage. I knew this piece could be beautiful and with a new purpose. This bench storage footlocker is for the 21st century woman because this ain't your mom's or grandma's hope chest anymore! This elegant piece of furniture with history and nostalgia can be placed in a bedroom or near the back door or near the entry of your home.The hours of re-furbishing and re-finishing her have been worth it! She is now painted in neutral colors of linen and cream with beautiful violet floral pictures adorning her front. She can hold 20 pair of shoes in the cubbies provided and has a memory board in her lid for those gloves and mittens we always seem to misplace (or lose just one of them). Her lock has been changed out with a brand new lock and key provided by Lane and she now is scented with lavender and patchouli.She would look stunning at the foot of a bed where you now have storage for shoes and a place to sit putting your shoes on or taking them off.
